Chapter 3.3 CMOS IMAGE SENSORS FOR AMBIENT INTELLIGENCE
نویسندگان
چکیده
Ambient Intelligence (AmI) hinges on three key technologies: ubiquitous computing, ubiquitous communication, and intelligent user-friendly interfaces. In order for there to be intelligence and communication of relevance to people, sensor inputs are essential. One of the most versatile and, in our estimation, crucial of all possible inputs is the image sensor. To fulfill the dream of AmI and to assure widespread adoption of the image sensor, one must address the following criteria: cost, power, versatility, and adaptability. We will present an overview of the current state of the image sensor and indicate some of the ways in which hardware designers might meet the challenge of addressing

Neural Monitoring With CMOS Image Sensors
Implantable image sensors have several biomedical applications due to their miniature size, light weight, and low power consumption achieved through sub-micron standard CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) technologies. The main applications are in specific cell labeling, neural activity detection, and biomedical imaging. In this paper the recent research studies on implantable CMOS i...
متن کاملNew Method for Analysis of image sensor to produce and evaluate the image
In this paper, a new method for evaluating CMOS image sensors based on computer modeling and analysis is introduced. Image sensors are composed of different parts, each of which has a specific effect on image quality. Circuits of image sensors can be evaluated and analyzed using circuit simulators or theoretically, but these methods cannot help to produce the final image. In order to produce th...

Background and Aim: Considering the consequences of false positive (FP) and false negative (FN) diagnoses as well as the lack of information on the diagnostic ability of photostimulable phosphor plate (PSP) and complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensors in the detection of secondary caries, this study aimed to compare the diagnostic ability of these two sensors in the detection of s...
متن کاملA Sensor Management System for Ambient Intelligence and Urban Computing Environments
Nowadays smartphones are equipped with a large amount of sensors, including GPS, accelerometers, cameras, microphones, and light sensors. These sensors are the perfect way for sensing the context in which a user is located. This chapter describes a simple framework able to recognize different kind of events triggered by sensors, distributing them among interactive objects. This framework has be...
